TRAINING & PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT

We strive to be an employer of choice in the construction industry. We are always searching for skilled and talented individuals to join our team as we continue to grow our project portfolio.

In turn, we are committed to investing in our employees by supporting their career growth with access to ongoing training and professional development opportunities.

SAFETY TRAINING

Safety training is an important component of our commitment to health, safety, and employee wellness.

Prior to beginning work for the first time, and when changing activities or moving to a new facility or worksite, employees are trained on new and additional health and safety hazards, procedures, and emergency response plans to ensure their safety knowledge aligns with the requirements of the job and of our clients.

Ongoing safety training for employees at all levels of the organization is vital to our success as a company. By implementing training programs to develop safe workers, we lay the groundwork for safe worksites.

STUDENTS & NEW GRADS

With over 85 years of corporate history, students and new graduates are the employees of our future. We are always searching for outstanding students and graduates with technical degrees or training in business disciplines and the trades.

Trotter & Morton participates in RAP (Registered Apprenticeship Program) to encourage high school students to explore and develop their interest in the many construction trades opportunities available.

Both RAP students and new graduates learn from our team leaders and are given the opportunity to develop long-term careers at T&M.

TRADES

More than half of our employees are certified tradespeople in a wide variety of trade disciplines, including:

  • Data Technicians
  • Electricians
  • Heavy Duty Mechanics
  • Heavy Equipment Operators
  • HVAC Technicians
  • Ironworkers
  • Pipefitters
  • Plumbers
  • Sheet Metal
  • Truck Drivers
  • Welders

To keep our workforce skillset current, we provide our tradespeople with extensive hands-on training that aligns with their technical, in-class education.

We don’t just hire for senior positions, we focus on long-term career development to grow individuals into future leaders from within our ranks. Over one fourth of our employees are indentured apprentices. We have an exceptional training program for our apprentices and we grow our Journeymen and women.

Through our annual Apprentice of the Year Awards program, we showcase exceptional performance by our apprentices at the end of every year to encourage those who have just begun their apprenticeship journey.
